Elizabeth Teague

Root Capital

Elizabeth Teague serves as Director of the Climate Resilience Initiative at Root Capital, an impact investor focusing on agricultural small-and-growing businesses in the Global South. As Director, she leads Root Capital’s work to build the resilience of rural communities to climate change, including through increased access to climate finance. Prior to her current role, she spent ten years working on impact measurement and management for Root Capital’s lending portfolio, including building the organization’s approach to environmental impact assessment, contributing to its first impact rating, and managing processes to integrate impact into lending decision making.

Elizabeth began her career working with a regenerative agriculture school in Japan, which sparked her interest in sustainable agriculture as a tool for community development and climate action. She holds a BA from Dartmouth College.
